BSSK supports families and adoptees at various points during the adoption process by offering the following services:
Pre-adoption workshops: These workshops are carefully designed to guide parents through the child’s initial journey to the centre, their health considerations, and the emotional experiences of both the child and the adoptive parents. Live discussions with older adoptees and families during the workshops add more value to the families experience.
Adoptive families receive support through tailored WhatsApp groups.
Parenting workshops with a focus on adoption are available throughout the year, covering a wide range of topics such as communication, discipline, brain development, nurturing potential, adopting older children, single parenting, and discussing the realities of adoption.
Guidance sessions and referrals: Parents have the opportunity to consult with BSSK’s professional and experienced team on raising children, and sharing experiences, education, and development. If necessary, appropriate referrals to external therapists or psychologists will be provided.
Homecoming visits: Planned visits to the centre allow adoptees to revisit their first home, interact with the team who cared for them as infants, and immerse themselves in the surroundings.
Group support for children through engaging in in-person workshops.
Birth Parent Search: BSSK initiates searches in cases following thorough due diligence.
BSSK offers various resources, including publications, research materials, and references to doctors/therapists.
